Our Mission
We aim to help our local shelters keep their kennels empty, reduce the load on their capacity, and provide medical and socialization help for the shelter kitties that need a little extra assistance.
What We Do
Alleviate capacity challenges faced by local shelters
We partner with local shelters to transfer cats into our care so that they can free up valuable kennel space to serve more animals. While cats are in our care, they stay in our spacious lounge where they are free to roam, play, and interact freely without the restriction of a kennel while they wait to be adopted into their forever homes.
Provide support for cats who face barriers to adoption
In a traditional shelter setting, bonded pairs, cats requiring additional medical care, and those needing extra socialization may face barriers to adoption. We work to reduce those barriers by providing support for cats who may need extra assistance on their way to adoption.
Bonded Pairs:
We aim to intake bonded pairs from shelters to ensure they stay together. It can be more difficult to adopt out bonded pairs, because not every adopter is able to take two cats at a time. Bonded pairs in our lounge always stay together until they find the right people to adopt them together.
Cats Needing Medical Treatment:
We fund medical treatments that may be considered nonessential in a shelter setting. For example, we have funded dental extractions that would have placed a financial burden on adopters. Reducing this financial burden ensures that cats needing medical care are still able to find adopters.
Under Socialized Cats:
Cats often arrive in our care fearful of people. Our Cat Lounge environment allows under socialized cats to habituate to human contact and gradually build confidence through positive interactions with staff, volunteers, and guests.
Help connect cats to their furrever homes
All of the cats who enter our lounge are eventually adopted out. Although we are only a temporary home, we aim for their environment to be as open as possible, not only to provide the most enriching environment, but to also allow them to reveal their true personalities to potential adopters. As a result, adopters can make more informed decisions, leading to stronger and more successful matches.
